Despite a recovery in the second half and the introduction of offensive players such as Batshuayi and Wahi, the SGE failed to score any other goals. A free shot by Grimaldo sealed Leverkusen’s victory. Dino Topmöller’s team must work on its precision in front of the goal, its defensive organization and the integration of new players like Burkardt. The next meeting of the Champions League against Galatasaray Istanbul represents an opportunity to correct the shot and show a better face.
