Inter Milan: New start with Chivu and a guard track

Inter Milan tackles his game against the Ajax with an almost complete team, the only concern being Matteo Darmian’s injury. The team trained at Apiano Gentile and should fly to the Netherlands later that day. Despite the concern about Darmian, who missed training due to back pain, the club can count on almost all of its players for this trip. Coach Cristian Chivu, appointed in June, is perceived as an interesting bet by some, including Andy van der Meyde, who highlights his experience and the confidence the club gives him. The arrival of Chivu marks a new chapter for the Inter, which seeks to overcome the disappointment of the previous season and to regain its place as leader in the Champions League.

Van der Meyde highlights the need for the team to forget the end of last season, marked by the departure of former coach Simone Inzaghi and disappointing results. He stressed the importance of regularity for key players such as Thuram, Lautaro and Calhanoglu, and praised Denzel Dumfries’ decision to stay in San Siro as a strategic and essential player for the team and the national team. The former midfielder of Parma believes that Chivu, although having an unusual course at Inter, is a coach who knows the players well and that he can succeed if he manages to overcome past difficulties.

In parallel, Inter Milan would be approaching for goaltender Elijah Caprile, currently in Cagliari. This track could become an alternative to Yann Sommer, whose contract expires within less than a year and for which the club does not foresee an extension. Despite Josep Martinez’s arrival last summer, he has not yet obtained regular tenure. If Caprile proves to be a viable option, it could take over from Sommer and offer a more balanced competition within the club. If the two guards do not convince, the Inter could again turn to the transfer market to strengthen its line of guards.
